January Newsletter

30th January 2014

Welcome to our January newsletter!
We have lots of exciting news to tell you about the successfull US Destiny Africa Tour and the countdown for the oncoming UK 'Inspire Africa' tour!

The Destiny Africa choir have had a wonderful time touring America upon their US tour, amongst being warmly received and performing outstanding shows, the children made a trip to visit the state of Maine for the first time! The choir visited Chebeague Island off the coast of Portland, Maine to do an hour performance in a very quaint, white washed church.  Friendships were made and the children got to spend that afternoon on the beach.  It was a great day that started and ended with a ferry ride. The children also spent time in Norway, Maine on Lake Pennesseewassee.  They ate steak and lobster, took a ride on the motor boat and had a wonderful time meeting and loving on their new grandmother, Mammy.

The choir also had a fantastic opportunity to create paintings under the teaching of local artist Susan Burgess. They each painted “Africa” in their own unique way and then Susan finished each painting beautifully showcasing the Destiny Africa artist’s natural talents. Each painting brings forth their homeland of Uganda in brilliant colours and imagination. Paintings are available for purchase!
Preparations for the UK Destiny Africa tour are under way and the countdown to their visit upon the 11th of March has begun! You can view the tour schedule upon the wonderfully new launched Destiny Africa website! If you can't wait any longer, we have photos available to give you a sneak peak into the behind the scenes rehearsals, make sure to take a look!
If you would like to experience the choir performing at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham in front of 2,000 people, the choir will be making a short appearance at the DMS, Fusion of music and dance concert! Experience the fun and be sure to book your tickets!

If you like to dress up smart, join us at the fantastic black tie dinner dance at our Charity Ball upon Saturday March 23rd, where you can enjoy the elegance and partake in changing lives. Please contact Dee Wevill for all bookings and details.

The choir will also be providing a matinee performance during the first week of the popular Christian festival Spring Harvest! For any queries please contact our UK tour manager  .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

We are looking forward to a wonderful and exciting tour!
