You can help become part of turning young lives around – your support will make a massive difference.

We operate two child sponsorship schemes at Kampala Children’s Centre, please read below for more information.

1.‘New Hope, New Start’ Child Sponsorship

The ‘New Hope, New Start’ programme gives desperate children the chance to start a new life living at Kampala Children’s Centre (KCC). Each child is formally adopted by KCC, and your sponsorship will provide all that the child needs to grow into a healthy, empowered and self-sustaining adult. As part of a loving and committed KCC family, their lives are being nurtured, healed and restored.

Through your sponsorship, you will help to transform a child’s life, giving them the chance to dream again and hope of a brighter future.

Sponsoring a child, living at KCC costs £35 a month and all our children have between 2 -4 sponsors, depending on their specific needs. We are committed to providing for all of the child’s personal needs: food, clothing, healthcare, schooling and educational supplies as well fun recreational activities.

As a sponsor you will be able to build a personal bond with the child you support as you see them grow and develop over the years, knowing that your on-going giving is making a huge difference in their life.

2. ‘Communities of Hope’ Child Sponsorship

The ‘Communities of Hope’ programme enables Kampala Children’s Centre to support children in the local community who, for example, may be living with a relative who is too unwell or poor to provide nutritious meals, school fees or healthcare for them. Your sponsorship enables them to take part in the life of KCC, through our education, sports and performing arts programmes.

Your sponsorship is used to cover the costs of the child’s education, uniform, school meals and materials. Our social workers make routine visits to each child at home to assess their situation and often have the opportunity to have an input into the wider family. Most of the children are not orphans and so have one or both parents, or will be living with relatives. The child you sponsor will remain living in their home in the community.

Supporting a child in the community costs £25 a month and each child normally has only one sponsor – although sometimes a group become sponsors, such as a school class. Money from a sponsor will never be given directly to the family or parents of the child, rather it will be distributed by KCC directly to the school to pay for the child’s tuition fees.

Through your sponsorship, you will be giving a child the gift of an education and the chance to have a brighter future.
